The Violet Wand Guild wishes to extend its deepest apologizes to its membership.  We know that you've wondered what happened to the website and to major members who seemed to disappear.  It is our unfortunate duty to inform everyone that our previous Chairman, Daniel Mcfeyden aka Murlach, took control of the website in 2007 and locked many of our major members from accessing it.  Unfortunately, it took us a long time to first understand and recognize what had happened, and then to recover control of the website and domain and make website functions available to our members once again.

In 2006 we were a rapidly growing and dynamic community, so it is unfortunate that the personal politics of one person set us back.  However, we know that this organization will continue to thrive, and even while our website may have been inaccessible for many months, we still remained as an organization.

Please re-register.  Our website is completely new, and due to database damage of the old site we were not able to transfer any registrations.  Registration will allow you access to our private areas and advanced information, plus make it possible for you to advance within the Guild.

Thank you for your support.  This organization is made up of volunteers, and we are here for you.

Dan Mcfeyden registered and owned the domains www.violetwands.org and www.violetwands.net, and had a joint interest in the commercial site of www.violetwands.com.  During 2007, he closed access to the www.violetwands.org and www.violetwands.net websites from the site administrators and officers of the guild.  He then disappeared with no forwarding contact information.  In 2008, contact with him was re-established and at that time, Mcfeyden informed guild officers that he would sell out his interests in the related violetwands domains and their hosting services.   After considerable effort and negotiations, the domains were purchased by Transfixus LLC, a web development company, expressly for the continued use of the violet wand community.

The sites are now developed and maintained server-side by this business entity under contract, and this, plus the current commercial level security of the domains, eliminates the possibility of such a personally-motivated event recurring.  The Guild maintains all front end administrative access to and maintenance of www.violetwands.org through an administrative team comprised of officers and members of the Guild.  As members advance within the Guild, they may receive additional administrative access, have the ability to add and edit content and articles, be forum moderators and attend to other administrative functions.

I had tried to join the site for months, and had given up on it when I saw Dr. Clockwork refer to it on another site. I have now joined, and am looking forward to learning as I progress on my journey.
